Regional Scholarships & Skills Acquisition Program
Rehoboth Dream Solid Foundation was established to lend a helping hand to the less privileged so they can obtain economic empowerment. Our work and projects are geared towards building a nation of self-reliant and determined youths. In furtherance of this mission, we established and designed the Regional Skills Acquisition Programme to teach soft skills to indigent students. The programme gives the students an opportunity to learn skills aimed at Personal Development and Leadership Development. The curriculum also covers Entrepreneurial Skills, fundamental ICT Skills, and core Soft Skills Training. The aim is to equip younger generations with basic skills to set them up for successful careers either as employees or entrepreneurs.
The scheme was initiated in 2015 when RDSF sponsored 13 students to ‘The Work Place Centre’ Victoria Island for a ‘4 day Skills Workshop for young adults'. Some of the modules taught in this program include Basic Entrepreneurial Skills, Communication, Business Etiquettes, Personal Effectiveness and Advanced Excel Skills.

In 2016, RDSF decided to organize and run its own workshop in order to save costs and sponsor more students. This was a good decision as 47 students attended the 5 days’ session held in Ekiti. RDSF worked with experienced consultants to deliver a Skills Development Programme to indigent students in Ekiti state. The curriculum for the Ekiti programme included Graphics Design, PeachTree Training, Excel and other ICT and Soft skills modules.
The most recent of the RDSF Skills Acquisition Programmes were held at the University of Benin and Federal University of Technology Owerri campuses in May and June 2019 respectively. The curriculum for these programmes included: Microsoft Excel, Developing Creativity, Emotional Intelligence, Goals Setting and Getting Things Done.
The University of Benin had 86 participants while 55 students participated in the Federal University of Technology Owerri programme.
