Teachers’ Excellence Award
The Teachers’ Excellence Award was instituted by the Foundation in August 2018 during the Annual Lecture to celebrate teachers that have demonstrated excellence in the impartation of knowledge to students in public secondary schools in Lagos.
The 2021 edition was held for teachers in Lagos Education District IV; comprising of secondary school teachers in Apapa, Mainland and Surulere zones. To arrive at the winners, students and staff of each school were required to nominate a teacher and this led to an initial pool of 94 nominees from 94 schools. Some members of the Board of Trustees then put all the candidates through stringent evaluation using a combination of information on the CV and those earlier gathered from the field. After due appraisal, the candidates for RDSF 2021 Teachers’ Excellence Awards emerged. The grand prize of N250,000 went to Mrs Eucharia Nwenyi.
